I would like to have your opinion and experience regarding prosthetic design for a baseball player and boxer. Fifteen year old male who has made his Junior Varsity baseball team and also boxes at the amateur level. Had osteosynthesis of distal tibia to femur (tibial turn-up) secondary to hemangiopericytoma . Has done very well with current prosthetic set up. However, we believe he is more than ready for a sports specific prosthesis. Socket design and suspension not an issue. We basically fit him like a knee dis-articulation . What are your recommendations and/or experiences in regards to components ? Ideally, the same prosthesis could be used for both baseball and boxing. Thank you for your time and consideration.
