List Members,

I have a 37 year old female who recently lost her second leg below the knee
due to Diabetic Complications.

She has limited Medicaid coverage. I am wondering if any one can provide me
with a link to any studies that would back my thoughts of less energy
expenditure, more function, better gait with Dynamic response feet vs.
Seattle Lite feet.

The issue is that Medicaid has an allowable for the flex-foot, Flex-walk
codes. They just seem to downgrade the codes to the seattle lite foot code
when I have tried to get a unilateral flex foot for folks authorized. But I
believe the b-lateral nature of this young ladies case warrants a flex type
foot. I think providing additional studies etc. would give me a better shot
at getting authorization.

Thank you for all the great input this list-serve provides for the
practitioner and ultimately the patient.
