Here are some of the responses I've received...no one addressed the
issue of taping the sleeve. Any other ways of sealing the sleeve?
Any other type and sources of tape besides clear stretch?

I like the grey color bent knee gel sleeve made by Otto Bock for use
with their Harmony system. I have one pt who has used his every day
for the past year without a leak. I added a socket shield to go over
the distal part of the sleeve around the socket.

Joseph Brenner, CP, FAAOP wrote that likes the Contex gel sleeves
distributed by Pel in place of the Alps SFR design or Otto Bock
Urethane sleeves. He uses DAW trim to prolong liner/sleeve life and
fabs acustom
shell and cover over the prosthesis that comes up to the trim lines
and over the distal portion of the sleeve. He's also a fan of
Ossur's seal in system, and says his patient's are more comfortable
with the X5 if designed properly.
Likes OB urethane liners but recommends a high durometer silicone that
conforms more intimately to the residuum.
