Hello all,

A question for Prosthetists:

I am interested in finding out what people are using for billing and reimbursement when using an axial rotator above the foot on and AKA as well as a push button rotator above the knee? It would seem that the 5984 (axial rotation with or without adjustment) code would be be justified easily and would cover both of these components. What are people's thoughts on billing 2 units of 5984. Or would it be better served by using 5984 and 5986 (multi-axial rotation). The issue is if you are using a 5981 foot code and putting an axial rotation unit on top of the foot it really does not fall into the multi-axial rotation category. Or is there no way to be reimbursed for the push button rotator if they are both used?

I have a good feeling there are others that may be wondering the same thing. I will post responses.

Thank you,
