Dear members:
I have a 62 y.o. Left Knee Disarticulation amputee. Due to a compound
fracture and trauma to the Left extremity, the limb is actually slightly
longer (1/4) than the contralateral (sound) side. The patient has
expressed a need to maintain some cosmesis in his completed prosthesis.
Can someone please provide me with feedback on Knee units they've used with
their Knee Disarctic patients? I'd specifically like to know which knee
units out there offer the maximum clearance (minimum distance from knee
center to end of prosthesis with the knee flexed) so that I can provide this
patient with a reasonable cosmesis and a functional knee unit. He is an
active, motivated patient.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
