Good Morning all,
I have a patient who has been using an Aircast Pneumatic walking boot for 1.5 years due to RSD (CRPS) pain. She really likes the adjustable compression that she gets from the boot - she adjusts the aircells several times a day for relief. My problem is that the aircells keep popping and I have to get them replaced - DonJoy replaces them for free but it is happening monthly now.
At this point I would like to try something with airbladders molded in to a custom AFO. Does anyone have any suggestions for the air bladders? I don't want to use the same ones as aircast since they don't last. Also does anyone have any advice on this design? Basically she wants it circumferential rigid plastic with the air bladders molded in (including the foot). It can be like a CROW boot or perhaps something to fit in a shoe.
I am also looking for options for a pneumatic walking boot. I have seen 2 examples that have 2 uprights and soft circumferential air bladder that velcros to the uprights and has 3 straps to hold it in place. These are soft sided - Does anyone know of a rigid plastic design similar to the Aircast Walker? Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks for your input and Thanks to Paul P. for this forum!!
