Text:

Shenandoah University Physical Therapist students and faculty are looking for children with a lower limb difference for a research project. Qualified participants are healthy, medically stable children ages 6-17 years.

This study will examine the child’s ability to walk or run for 6 minutes, go up and down 12 stairs, and stand up from a chair, walk 3 meters, and return to it. The child’s self-esteem will be assessed by having them answer a series of questions. This test will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Your assistance with this study will be beneficial to identify abilities and limitations in children with lower extremity limb differences.

If you know a child, who lives in the northern Virginia area, who would like to be a participant in this study, please contact Dr. Melissa Wolff-Burke at 540-545-7238 or email <Email Address Redacted>

We greatly appreciate your assistance.
