Sorry for the delay. The most popular response to my question about using an Ak only on a bilateral patient that was elderly and weak was to use a hydraulic knee like a Mauch to let her ride down the fluid on flexion and have help with those transfers. This is the plan of attack we will use. She can donn the prosthesis and uses a KISS set up with alpha ak liner. I will shorten the limb and use a lightweight unit with stance only control and hydraulic in the perm leg.
