The AAOP Gait Society is proud to update you about its activities and
welcomes your participation.
1. We have recruited two phenomenal speakers for the AAOP National
Academy Meeting ( <URL Redacted>
education/). These presentations will be given by Kenton Kaufman, PhD
entitled, Clinical Outcome Measures for Orthotics and Prosthetics
and David Boone, PhD entitled, The Effects of Alignment on Prosthesis
Socket Reactions.
2. We have organized the Gait Society Business Meeting in hopes to
provide networking opportunities and active participation with a
demonstration of the new Computerized Prosthesis Alignment System -
ComPas. This will take place on March 6th, Friday evening, see the

3. The Gait Society is sponsoring the winter 2009 edition of the JPO
under the theme, Use of Gait Measurement Tools to Answer Clinically
Relevant Questions. The submission deadline is Oct 5, 2009. Go to <URL Redacted>
for details about submission.
4. Previous issues of the Gait Society newsletters have included
student reviews. We would like to open this to all residents and
students who may be interested in writing reviews of published journal
articles. Please contact Teri Chou about the details ( <Email Address Redacted>
).
5. We are open to ideas from all of you. What would you like to
experience from the Gait Society at the 2010 Academy Meeting? Please
let us know!
