Dear list,

Today I had someone mistakenly drop a 500 pound object from a pallet jack on
my prosthetic foot. I must admit it was a little amusing to watch them all
scramble about trying to lift it off and no one would listen when I said I
was fine and it was not a real foot ( coworkers did not know I am a BK). But
my question is my foot is broken now, and I filed an accident report,
although I was completely unharmed. I wondered if one can apply for worker’s
comp for a new foot? Has anyone experienced this before? My employer did not
know, as he has never heard of this situation before. Corporate office had
no idea. I thought it merited asking. Had it been a real foot there would be
no question. But will workers comp in Mass. Cover such a situation?

I will post replies on this to the list.
