The Summer Midwest Chapter AAOP Scientific Meeting will be held at the Grand
Geneva Resort, WI ( <URL Redacted>) on June 12 & 13, 2009, and
the annual golf outing on Thursday, June 11th. The Highlands is a Scottish
style course, a Pete Dye/Jack Nicklaus creation, transformed in 1996 by Bob
Cupp, and was updated once again in 2006 by Bob Lohmann, with a major
redesign on holes 9, 12 and 15. For those who have been involved with the
MWC for some time, this location holds some history. The site offers superb
amenities with plenty of well laid out meeting space and an exhibit hall
overlooking the pool and the 18th hole. They also offer family lodging at
their indoor water park with shuttle service to the main lodge where the
meeting will be held. We have secured a discounted rate with the option to
extend your stay at that same rate.
In order to create a more efficient and professional organization, with
long-term sustainability and continuity of quality, the MWC board has
elected to outsource the management and planning of the annual meetings.
Richard W. Butchko with Association Management Solutions will assist in
these endeavors. Rich has been instrumental in the successful management of
other meetings including the Ohio Chapter. I have great expectations for
this summer's meeting. With Rich steering the direction of the details the
board will focus on content and quality.
Along with the quality educational content, the Chapter would also like to
take advantage of this opportunity to reach out to the local state
associations. We are organizing a panel to discuss topic such as parity,
state reimbursement, and licensure
Please support the Midwest Chapter and The Academy!
