Dear Colleagues,
I hope to see many of you in the Dominican Republic next week for the ISPO
Reaching beyond Borders conference.
I received the below message from Cure International's in-country Orthopedic
Surgeon Dr. Scott Nelson. The one photo referenced is a young girl, maybe 4
- 6 years old, with a recent standard rotationplasty.
I leave tomorrow (Tuesday) for Haiti and do not have time to obtain any
additional components.
My request is for the prosthetists attending to consider putting a few
components in their suitcase to donate, for these cases or the many others
in need.
Thank you,
Al

Al,
I wanted to ask you if you would have any interest (or know anyone that
would) in helping 2 patients that I have recently done lower extremity
rotationplasties on. I also have 2 others done a couple of years ago that
likely need help as well. Attached is a photo of one of them just for
inspiration. Our prosthetists here I am sure will be attending the
conference and could participate in getting appropriate care for these
children. However, their expertise and resources for some of these more
complex situations is somewhat limited.
Thank you
