I have a transfemoral patient that is to under go an ankle arthrodesis in January on the sound limb. He currently wears a Total Knee. He desires a manual lock knee temporarily during the recovery process as he has to be non weight bearing for 4-6 months following the surgery and is concerned that the knee will give way at an inappropriate moment causing a fall or damage to the healing fusion.
I'm not a big fan of manual lock knees but in this case....
Question is what would your recomendation be for a manual lock knee preferably 4 bar/polycentric as he is a long transfemoral. Other strategies are welcome as well. Thanks for looking.
