Fellow orthotist,
I do a fair amount of upper extremity orthotics. In the last year medicare changed some of the L-codes. My complaint is that I'm now supposed to provide a L-3808 whfo custom orthosis for $263.56 while a L-3906 who custom orthosis carries an allowable of $332.87. The first includes fingers and thumb while the latter does not. It makes no sense to me. We use to get around $400.- for a L3907 whfo but they deleted that code. These are North Carolina medicare allowables. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help or advice.
