I have a geriatric patient with a left thoracolumbar curve of 45 degrees, apex T12, decompensated to the left 1 1/2. She has digestive and respiratory issues, thus can tolerate minimal pressure over her abdomen/chest areas. Her curve is semiflexible and has progressed rapidly in the last 3 months. She experiences some pain relief when I apply corrective forces while she's standing. I would like to hear of anyone's experiences and orthotic designs in cases like these where AP compression must be left at a minimum.
Thanks,
