Greetings from Australia,
I am interested to know what Gait Analysis resources Orthotists and
Prosthetists have available to them for their clinical practice.
Do you have access to any or all of these?
Which ones do you use for every patient appointment, for more difficult
patient fittings, and for extreme cases of an unsolved problem?
If finances were of no object which of these resources would you find
helpful in your service provision for every patient, for more difficult
patient fittings, and for extremely difficult problems?
a. Observational real-time gait analysis
b. Observational video gait analysis
c. Temporospatial measures (including GaitRite etc)
d. Pressure measurement systems
e. Video Vector systems
f. 3 dimensional kinematics (Vicon or similar)
g. 3 dimensional kinetics (Vicon or similar, with force plates)
I guess my question is, Can every O&P prescription be achieved with only
Observational real time gait analysis? Which patients need more in depth
assessment or measurement, and what measures or information are useful
to the Orthotist/Prosthetist?
Appreciate your feedback,
Deborah
