I'm working with a BK patient who was recently diagnosed with a neuroma between the tibia/fibula. He also has three bone spurs in the same area. He has had a pattern of extreme pain 1-2 times per year. This has recently increased and the pain episodes are more frequent and severe. He can't wear a silicone liner due to the constriction. Generally, the problem does not seem to be related to socket fit, unless he contacts distally.
My question is about non-prosthetic options. In your experience, what are the best strategies for dealing with the neuroma and spurs - injections, etc? Are there physicians that you have worked with who are experienced and knowledgeable in handling this type of situation?
