We have a software program for Invoicing and A/R, but I'm wondering if
any of you outsource these functions? Do you know of business that know
how to send clean claims to Medicare and insurance companies?

Contact Elizabeth Carlstrom from O&P Business Solutions. You will have
to google her... she is top of the line.
We use Cortex EDI it has worked out great for us. They have an audit
system that works so well we average 1 claim every 3-6 months being
thrown back. Go to www.cortexedi.com you have to staff someone to enter
the claim but it works very well for us!
I know that AcQ Data works with O & P Providers to do just that. You
could contact Lisa Lake-Salmon there who can give you some info.
There are a few companies out there for outsourcing but there are two
things
you must remember. They do not correct your claims and you are still
responsible to follow up on claims that are not paid either by
resubmitting
or going after the client. I tried one for a 3 month trial and I am
still
trying to get back what I lost in time and money. If you figure out the
cost
it's probably more efficient to have a good software package and your
own
accounts payable person. I also recommend that more than one person be
familiar with the methods of submission like your office manager or
yourself
to keep tabs on the accounts. These lessons were learned the hard way,
the
school of hard knocks. A good way to keep track is to do a chart review
at a
reasonable interval like weekly, bi weekly or monthly this helps keep
track
of the files and the billing while making sure that the practitioners
are
notating and completing their charts. Even though I'm a single
practitioner
and C Ped I still do a chart review. My office it take about an hour
with
the staff being shown the missing items before the end of day. I do mine
on
Friday early afternoon so that follow up can begin on Monday.The company
