Hi List,
Here is my original post:
I'm looking for a waterproof shuttle lock for a BK swim prosthesis. Do you
have any suggestions for the best one, easiest to install/fabricate, etc?
I will post responses.
Thanks,
Sharon Toscano-Andrews, CP

Most of the responses were for two shuttle locks:
Coyote airlock
Gator lock from Fillauer
I will have to investigate fabrication techniques and see which would work
easiest for my prosthesis.

Here are the actual responses:

Try the Gator Lock from Fillaurer.

I would look into the Coyote Design Air Lock. It is pretty well sealed up.
Nothing can get in through a pylon or the button opening. Here is their
website. <URL Redacted>

Wouldn't water get into the sleeve and break the seal. If you had to use
something I would use the 12465 shuttle from Hosmer. You will have to use a
silicone spray to keep it lubricated,

Coyote sells one. Saw one scuba diving. Dale or Matt Perkins is your point
of contact. Good luck

Coyote shuttle lock...but a sleeve is better. Use a sleeve with that
coyote lock and it should be perfect

Coyote designs is who I use and century has one too. I like the coyote lock
because all the water proof legs that I make , I spray with truck bed
lining. Works great!

coyote locks...

Try the AirLock by Coyote

i have used the cyote air lock with great success..very easy to fab..easy to
replace if it breaks..can be cleaned should pt get sand in each from beach
use..good luck
You may want to look into the Coyote Air Lock by Coyote Designs. I have
used them for shower prostheses and swim prostheses.
Talk to the mfg. to be sure

Why not just a one way valve and suspension sleeve? The sleeve keeps water
out of the skt... If you're set on lock, the coyotee products probably have
the least am't of corrosive metal.

why not try a lanyard system, coyote ,instead of a lock? They are the
easiest and most durable to do. I have 35 or so out there and have never had
any complaints.I use them for scuba divers, swimmers and any water sports.
Contact me for help if you want. Trace Klein CP.

You could try 6A30=20 from otto bock products

We have found the Coyote Airlock to work the best. It is lightweight,
airtight and made of nylon so no parts to rust.

coyote has a water proof plastic lock in two sizes. I use the small lock
more often

Coyote Designs has one that's all plastic

I have one patient that surfs and swims in the ocean. Everything rusts but
his otto bock shuttle lock. They have a version that they claim is
waterproof and it has held up beautifully. No problems, even with sand and
salt water. Good luck g

the coyote lock is watterproof

I've used a Fillauer Gator Grip lock and so far so good. Might want
to check into that option. Good luck

Check into Coyote Design's CD103 Airlock. Fabrication can be tricky the
first time but it gets easier with a little practice. All parts are plastic
except for three small springs. They send more than you need and can be
changed out easily. Also, this lock is air-tight, so when used with a
sleeve, no metal parts would get wet. Good luck

You can get a great waterpoof ankle see

coyote airlock

The coyote air lock is waterproof and all made of plastic, it comes in large
and small. The delron pins can wear out, but otherwise good

The Airlock from Coyote is completely made of plastic.
