Some of the post I received.
i have tried ONE from medi and it was not a positive outcome. medi does not claim a high success rate though, so i'd not be coming to any conclusions based on my experience.
in general, i had tremendous success with X-static material, and now they have socks and liners with it.
sincerely

Ø I have seen some advertisements about prosthetic socks to preventresidual limb pain. They can be worn at night and some can be wornwith a gel liner. I am happy to repost your query to <Email Address Redacted> to see if any subscribers can offer you information. Wayne Renardson, modAMP-L
We have had good luck with the Medi Night socks. Doesn't eliminate pain but does reduce it significantly. Paul Meyer, CPO---- John Stewart < <Email Address Redacted> > wrote:
Give it a shot. The studies seem to think there might be potential butmore studies are needed. There are two types one from Farabloc and theother from Medi.As you know there are different causes for phantom pain and differentthings help different people. The socks work of the principle of theFaraday cage. That means it blocks RF (radio waves, cell phone signalsetc) Put your phone in the sock and it won't get the signal. So, if the person's phantom pain is affected by RF then it can help. Ihave tried it on several people but I haven't had one that definitivelyworks yet. I wouldn't rule it out, it's just that it is finding the ptthat it works for Mark Benveniste RN BS CP
cant say for sure if the silver socks/nylons/shrinkers/gel liners reduce or eliminate phantom pain. However, I do believe the Comfort silver sheaths and thin one ply socks reduce skin problems on many when worn next to the skin under many types of liners, more so than a regular nylon sheath. They do cost more but but of course that is relative to how bad the problem is.Both Juzo and Medi make a silver shrinkers, Medi has a gel liner with silver(I have not tried it). Maybe a Comfort silver nylon sheath under a shrinker would be of help.Good Luck!Laura Ryder
