Following up on my posting regarding the Seattle Power Knees:
I am interested in any practitioner's experience and patient feedback on the SPK760 Fusion, SPK750 4-Bar, and SPK700 Single Axis Seattle Power Knees. Safety, reliability, and functional advantages or disadvantages are some of the features that I would like to hear about.

Hello,
I have personally fit many of each model for at least 5 years,
I work for the company but as a Fellow in the Academy can honestly tell you the knees are safe and work well. We have tested the knees to ISO standards and find them strong.
The function of the Microprocessor is to monitor and adjust the propulsion of the knee into extension at various rates of speed rather than decelerate the extension. This is extremely
beneficial when programmed correctly with regards to the patients need and energy consumption. No battery charging because the swing phase adjustment will function for about 2 years without battery replacement. Worst case, if the battery goes down the knee adjusts to the medium setting that the CPO programmed and it acts as a standard pneumatic knee This is the swing phase settings, the stance phase is purely mechanical and therefore reliable. The three knees have the same Microprocessor swing and different stance control. SPK 700 is a weight locking knee with MP, the SPK750 is a Four Bar with MP, and the SPK 760 is a rotary hydraulic with MP. When determining what knee to choose , first determine if the patient will ever go step over step down stairs or ramps, if so the best choice is the SPK 760, if not the SPK 700 at a much lower expense and if residual limb length is long use the Four Bar SPK750.
Feel free to contact me directly for further information.
