Good afternoon, We are interested in your opinions regarding a child's
size below knee (transtibial) prosthetic suspension sleeve that is
comfortable, thin and durable, Any recommendations? Ed
Responses :
1) We at Shriners, in St. Louis use the New Option Sports sleeves
2) ESP makes the 1/8 thick FlexKids neoprene sleeve. Guaranteed for 3
months!
3) Benik model # K-106. You can order either stock or custom.

4) Wanted to touch base with you on our Contex Gel sleeves, this items
is available in Small which we recommend for upper extremity and
pediatrics in addition. This sleeve is also thermomoldable. The
thickness is
approximately, 3mm. You can find more information in our catalog page

5) We have had the most success with the Flexikids sleeves from ESP.
Fillauer's Titan sleeves are good as well, the sizes on them are smaller
and work best for the tiny ones. As with anything you put on a child,
they will tear it up. We have one parent that sews a patch to the
outside of the new sleeve to extend the wear life.
6) New Options Sports
2545 Merrell Road
Dallas, TX 75229-4615
(800)872.5488
(800)455.5488-fax
...they offer 5 different styles of pediatric sleeves plus custom
ordering available.
7) If the child has a really thin thigh you could always look into an
upper extremity sleeve. We have used those on thin pediatrics before.
Thank you all !
