-not the shoe help, but i'd get him few pairs of X-static socks from KniRite. with silver nitrate. i had very good success with those socks and any kinds of skin -tis conditions.
-A custom boot maker could most likely accommodate your needs. Choosing
the leather needed to comply with the Rx. The steel toe portion could
be
supplied from any existing boot. Maybe his work environment will allow
full length metatarsal covers instead of steel toe.
-What if you could create a barrier between the skin and the leather. I can think of breathable or non- breathable waders, water proof socks. These can be found in outdoors man type catalogs as well as military surplus.
-Put a 1/4 cup of French Green Clay powder in the boot every night and
shake it out the next day. It will draw out the persperation and
since it is a toxin remover it may remove the tanning chemicals. If
he works in a cold environment he can put plastic over his socks
- I would recommend that you talk to the people at CIATEC (Centre for
Innovation and Technology In Leather) in Mexico. I have had a similar
situation and they did a good job.
Vegetable tanned leather is the way to go. The people that you
would want to talk to there are Manuel Hernandez Trejo and Constantino
Vidal for help with this. I have included their address in the mail
above.
-We have had several patients like this in the past. What we did was, we
made a custom pair of shoes from a veg tan calf skin and used Ortec
glue. The result was great. Complete clear up of symptoms within 10 days
and has not come back.
-Persoanally, if wearing a man-made product solved my problem, then I would go that route, even though it might cost extra money having to replace them fequently.
How many other people have medical conditions that cost money to deal with? To me, it sounds like a no-brainer, and just deal with the synthetic products, if they don't cause that problem.
