I WAS CURIOUS HOW OTHER PRACTITIONERS ARE CODING HINGED KNEE BRACES VERSUS HINGED KNEE IMMOBILIZERS.
THERE ARE SEVERAL HINGED KNEE IMMOBILIZERS, BLEDSOE EXTENDER, THAT WE UTILIZE THE CODE L1832.
HOWEVER, FOR A LOWER PROFILE NEOPRENE HINGED KNEE, DJ ECO HINGE, WE USE L1820.
MY QUESTION IS MORE TOWARDS A MORE EXPENSIVE NEOPRENE HINGED KNEE, DJ PLAYMAKER WITH HEAVY DUTY HINGE, THAT COST MORE TO BUY THAN
WHAT IS REIMBURSED AT L1820 CODING.
HOW DO YOU CODE THESE ITEMS?
DO YOU USE L1832 FOR ALL HINGE KNEE TYPES AS LONG AS IT MATCHES THE POST-OP ADJUSTABLE HINGE DESCRIPTION.
CAN YOU LEGALLY CHANGE THE PRICE FOR A L1832 NEOPRENE HINGE KNEE VERSUS THE L1832 POST OP KNEE IMMOBILIZER?

I BELIEVE THE REIMBURSEMENT FOR L1832 IS OVER $600.

IF CONFUSING, SORRY.

PLEASE ADVISE,
