Dear List,
My girlfriend is going to need to have her right index finger amputated
removing at minimum the distal Phalanx. This it the result of a crush injury
and the splitting of the distal phalanx by the surgeon in attempts to pin
the finger back in place. My question is prior to amputation should a a cast
be made of the digit to get as cosmetically appealing prosthetic as
ppossible? Also she is a piano player and professional horse trainer so form
and function are a high priorty. What cosmesis do others recommend ?
