Hello all,
I was presented with 41 yo male with a recent lak amputation due to cellulitis, and his right leg looks like it won't be long? before it's gone too. He claims to weigh 380 pounds, but I think that's 30 or 40 pounds low. His thigh circumference is 39. If anybody has experience with a similar situation, I have some questions:
A) Does any manufacturer offer knees, pylons, feet etc. rated to even 380# ? Ossur and Freedom both have upper limits?
??? of? 365.
B) Can I expect him to sign a release of liability for possible structural failure because his weight exceeds published????????
???? limits? Would this protect me legally in case of component breakage?
I would appreciate any feedback, and I'll be glad to share responses if anyone wants to contact me. Thanks
Henry Tonkin III, CP, LP
