Dear colleagues
I have an established hemi-pelvectomy patient who requires a hip with
either a stride limiter or a lock to be worn with a locked knee. She
lives in a hilly environment and walks outdoors on uneven terrain. She
weighs 88kg.
I considered the Otto Bock 7E5 locking hip joint, but have been advised
by Otto Bock that this patient is too active for this to be an
appropriate prescription. Similarly the Orthoeurope non-alignable hip
joint has proved to be inappropriate due to the combination of her
weight and activity level.
Can anybody advise me on any other hip joint that may be suitable for
this patient?
Many Thanks
