Thanks again for everyone's insights
Do you have a back up hand? If you do than you could use a myo hand without the glove and simply pull a surgical glove over the handshell of the hand-that would allevaite most of your troubles I surmise. If you don't then perhaps that's something you may want to consider. dedicated device for surgury - terminal device that does not require a glove? NO on the autoclave. Apply a liquid that evaporates after donning. I have used the product CAL-STAT for many years for such a purpose. The hand must be partially opened, Calstat is applied to the Elegance, surgical glove donned. I do not know the type of surgeon she is but in Orthopaedics, I always have them double glove. Cal-stat can be purchased directly online. Orignally made as a waterless hand sanitizer, this is what I use on all of my wet-fit AK's as well. Check for allergic reactions first. Good luck. How about trying a thin cotton or silky glove over the silicone elegance glove prior to the surgical glove application. Have you tried putting a nylon or other stocking typematerial over the cosmetic glove first? The two glovesmight slide over each other better. Nivea, Jergens, medical fluid or any liquid soap which would be readily available near an OR. I work with a gentleman that does sterile assembly in a medical productsfacility. His solution was to don a thin fabric glove first, then thenitrile. Still difficult though. If you come up with any other solutionsplease forward. When my wife did her surgical rotations they used a vacume box to don sterile gloves. the cuff of the glove fit over a lip and vacume inflated the glove. they stuck their hand into the inflated glove and pushed down. when the glove slipped off of the lip the vacume was broken and it deflated around the hand. perfect fit every time. For most upper extremity amputees applying a surgical or rubber glove is a pain where the sun don't shine. The best method though is to deflect the glove so that the fingers are isolated, similar to how a sterile glove comes out of the package. It use to be easier when the gloves had powder but with powder free gloves its harder. Anyway apply a small amount of silicone spray or alps silicone prep to the forehand of the prosthetic hand and slide the glove on. That has been the easiest for the upper extremity amputees who have to wear gloves. They need to be reminded to use a small amount of silicone.
Best Regards ,
