Please find below a summary of reponses for the Neuropathic knee pain posting. Thank you for all the replies and suggestions!
Most suggested some type of KAFO to eliminate the suspension issue -unfortunately this is not an option for this man - he is quite particular and wants something very low profile. Since his problem is strictly pain control and not instabilty or falling risk, he would rather go without any support than wear something cosmetically unappealling. His gait is actually very normal, he just comments that he must focus on keeping hisknee slightly flexed to minimize the pain. I am thinking that medication is his best option. Wearable therapy was also mentioned - I checked out the website and it looked like an option however this gentleman has a pacemaker and won't use electrical stim.
I really liked the idea of a figure 8 type strapping device - I tried to respond to that reply to get some pictures of the design but my e-mailed was returned undeliverable - Shaun A -please send me some pictures if you have any! Thanks again for everyone's help!
