There was some confusion in regards to the fuel surcharge memo
that we posted previously. This is a charge that will only be used when
a home visit is involved, for the optional convenience of the patient
not having to drive, use and pay for public transportation, or have
a friend drive them to and from the office for their appointments.
This is not for hospital, rehab center, nursing home visits, etc.
This is a minimal charge of $10.00. This is where we may have up to a
1 hour or more in drive time each way because the patient does not want
to come to the office. This is the patient's option to choose, for us to
go to their home, or come into the office for their appointment.
This would be a self pay service that is not billable through the insurance.
We are wondering if anyone else is providing this extra service, and if
so what are you charging for it. Your input is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
