FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT:David Krupa, CP (ECUADOR, GUATEMALA)Range Of Motion Project(502) 5675-9686 Eric Neufeld, CPO (USA)(312) <Email Address Redacted> Cascade Orthopedic Supply Donates $60,000 Of O&P Materials To ROMP For Projects In Ecuador and Guatemala Zacapa, Guatemala, 11/26/2007 - Cascade Orthopedic Supply recently sent a donation valued at roughly $60,000 in prosthetic and orthotic materials to the Range Of Motion Project 'ROMP' Chicago office for use in non-profit prosthetic projects in both Guatemala and Ecuador. Range of Motion Project (ROMP), a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Chicago, opened a full-time, ful-service orthotic & prosthetic clinic in Zacapa, Guatemala in October 2005. The clinic designs, manufactures, and fits approximately 20 new prosthetic limbs monthly as well as 40+ evaluations, follow-ups, gait training sessions and prosthetic/orthotic repairs. The ROMP clinic serves the poor of Guatemala who otherwise have no access to vital prosthetic rehabilitation services. Four full-time Guatemalan employees manage patient care, technical fabrication and the administrative needs of the clinic while overall strategic growth of the clinic in Guatemala is directly managed by ROMP's Field Director. The ROMP O&P Clinic in Zacapa operates on a non-profit philosophy supported by private US donors, granting organizations such as Rotary International and by way of new and used material donations from O&P manufacturers and prosthetic users in the United States. Many of the Guatemalan patients themselves help ROMP cover local costs to the organization by giving voluntary donations for the services they receive.ROMP also participates annually in 'Prosthetics For Ecuador' a volunteer mission providing 50 donated prosthetic limbs to patients at the Fundaciòn Hermano Miguel. Cascade Orthopedic Supply is directly supporting the daily operation of the ROMP Zacapa clinic as well as the February 2008 'Prosthetics For Ecuador' mission. ROMP is excited to redistribute the $60,000 worth of tools, socks, plastics, components and countless other O&P supplies contained within the recently shipped donation. Applause for Cascade Orthopedic Supply is well warranted in light of their generous gift to the less fortunate in Guatemala and Ecuador.
