Hello all,
I have been denied a PO from a hospital for a patient who is in the facility under Medicare Part A for a post op knee brace following a distal femoral fracture. The billing department at the hospital is asking me to bill the Medicare HMO and I am arguing that it is part A and I must bill the hospital. I am not contracted with the HMO. They have asked me to provide something in writing showing that I must bill the hospital. I used to have a link to Cigna Medicare's web site that listed all the codes that were covered and excluded for PPS billing but that has gone away after CMS changed payors for my location. Anyone have a link to that information for Noridian? Thanks again.
