I have a few upper extremity amputees with conventional cable prosthesis who experience failure of the black rubber grommet that slips over the triple swivel ball and then is used to hold said ball into the receiver located in the thumb of a metal terminal device. As a result of their activities the grommet degrades and rots and falls off and then the ball is free to come out of its home during some of their prosthetic operations permitting the cable to disconnect.
I was hoping that some ingenious prosthetist or technician had some down-home solution to replace the grommet with a more durable but effective component, always at an economical price.
I will share your response in order to illuminate our collective prosthetic knowledge. Thank you.
