Hello all: I posted a question asking about powder coaters and I was asked to post my responses. Here they are.
We have one, don't use it often, but it works great. It's a simple
process, spray and heat in oven, and it seems to be very durable. I can
recommend it.
We have used a powder coater for several years. I do some car restoration
as a hobby and used powder coating for years.
The unit that I like the best is from an automotive supply named Eastwood.
Their web address is _www.eastwood.com_ ( <URL Redacted>) . The
unit we us is model 1100 Pro Hotcoat Gun, part number 58100 and cost $700.00.
They also have great powder colors in a wide rage of heat ranges.
Greg, you can buy that exact same unit that XXXXX sells for less than half the price from the Eastwood company ( <URL Redacted>. I think XXXXX sells it for $250 and Eastwood sells it for $99.
It works very well. You'll have to make sure you buy a regulator that has a good fine tume adjustment. I got one that goes from 0 to 25 psi and it's perfect for the low pressures you need with the gun. Also, be sure to dry the air out before running it through the gun. :-)
Hey, Greg. XXXX XXXX again. I let you in on the transfers. Well,
the powder coat system can be purchased through a company called Eastwood
company. They sell an upgraded version for about $100 more. They are great
way of putting a durable finish on bars. They also sell extra cups to hold
different colors which will help speed up cleaning. They also sell more
colors and they are cheaper. Hope this helps.
I used a system in my residency, but I am unsure where I purchased it from. I recently opened my own facility, and purchased a facility that was closing that included the powder coater. I have yet to set it up, because I do not build my own metal braces. The best place for me is a person named Jim in Las Vegas for fab...
I would suggest looking on ebay. I know that for universal equipment, one pays a high premium to have it come from an O&P distributor. You can search the model that OTS sells (google) to compare pricing. I also would watch this item on ebay.

I use the becker system and have great results from my metal work.
The ventilation system is very important, and if you do not have a good one, this aspect may be more expensive than the powder coater. Second, the depth of the oven is important. One hangs the uprights (or other) from the grate and the item falls vertically, so check the height.
I also received a response from a colleague I used to work with and he had just purchased a system for his shop .He said the one he purchased was great and the price was right. I checked out the website of the company.
Here's the website... <URL Redacted>
We purchased the Deluxe System for $154.95.
