We have a 28 year old man that has to have a revision amputation from a
below knee to a through knee. He has asked the surgeon to please attach all
the ligaments and tendons into the bone in there correct anatomical position
as he feels that technology will advance to the point where lower limbs will
use sensor similar to upper limbs to control knee units etc.

I am well aware of Osseo integration and micro chips in knees but I am not
aware of any developments to attaching lower limb sensors to control knee or
foot function or of any surgical amputation techniques that are performed to
facilitate this.

Does anyone out there have any information on developments in this
direction?

I will post results and thank you in advance for your responses.
