Great appreciations to whom helped in this case .

Hi , Dear list members
In an article from R Munarriz1*, H Kulaksizoglu ,... , International Journal of Impotence Research (2003) 15, 290–292
with the subject : Lower extremity above-knee prosthesis-associated erectile dysfunction , in a case report study , the authors resault that ischiopubic portion of a prosthetic ischial containment socket caused localised pressure and trauma on the penile crus and commom penile artrial supply leading to impotence .
I like to know your experiences about this challenging problem and risk of occuring it in ischial containment fitted male AK amputees .
Replies:
If your creating that kind of pressure in that region of the IC socket, you've created an ill fitting socket. I cant imagine tolerating it long enough to traumatize this area to that extent. I've not had a single patient report such a problem. But, then again, my patient don't typically come to me for such issues. Scott
A very interesting subject that we need to hear more about. I do not feel that my AK patients would confide to their prosthetists that they suffer from this condition. Please post on the list serve any responses that you recieve on this matter.
I'm an AK amputee since 2000 and not sure about ED but do find it difficult to urinate while the prosthesis is on, unless I lift my body weight up on the prosthetic side. I assume this is due to pressure applied by the socket to the urine passages. I've never considered if this could be harmful in other ways too but it certainly does seem plausible.
Sincerely
