I am a aboveknee rear leg amputee. I am in good health and very active. I
have a long stump due to surgury to remove the lower leg plus knee because
of cancer. I currently own a C leg with a Hangar comfortflex socket and the
ossur sealin liner. I have in the past had a lanyard system that attached
just to the top of the liner and also have tried a number of suction
sockets.Pin systems will not work because of my stump length . Most all
these systems were good for me after 3 to 4 weeks of adjustments and then
were good for a couple of weeks and problems would always begin.I would
lose suction easily especially being active and always when sitting down.
If the socket was made tight I could never get back in and if it was too
loose its just trial and error to try to guess socks to add and inserts for
the suction types. On top of it I did gain some weight so I am on a diet
and adding to my difficulties in having significant daily volume changes
and the volume loss from overall weight loss.
I would like opinions from the experts or users on a recommendation for a
system that would meet my needs. The following are the requirements
1.minimal pistoning, rotation during daily volume variations.
2. adjustable tightening without removing clothing when daily volume
fluctuations occur during the day.
3. Being able to easily be adjusted for the permanent volume changes for a
time period of 6 months to a year.
4. zero change in fit when sitting down!!!
5. Comfortable and light
If anyone knows of the products that meets my requirements I would
appreciate your help. I have had a very frustating 3 year period that I
would like to end.
Thanks
Dave
