In regards to Teri's post below -things are bigger in Texas- including a
lack of ethics. We've got people here in Houston that walk the halls,
pull the chart, send out RX's to all the docs in the chart until one
bites and signs the script, then boom, the patient gets a limb
completely unbeknownst to the entire staff and sometimes even the
family.
Or my favorite, we have one company here where the sales reps visit
their patients in the hospital on an almost daily basis, buy meals to
be delivered to the patients families homes, sit with the family during
surgery, and even take the patients to and from their appointments in
their personal cars.
Obviously unethical but what can you do? (Not a rhetorical question).

Dear List,
???? On which side of the ABC Canons of?Professional Responsibility?does
walking through hospitals and nursing homes looking for amputees to give
your business card to fall?? Ethical or unethical?? Thank you for your
input and opinions.? Teri Powers-Watts,CPO
