Hello all,
I am writing in regards to the new fitting/suspension technique recently
posted called the Warren flip. I am interested to hear any feedback
on this technique and how it is working for people. Is the suspension
something that the patient can count on maintaining throughout the day?
Does the hand pump have to be used, or can you just use a one way valve
in the socket? Is suction lost during sitting due to the seal being so
proximal?
My patient is about 2 inches short of being a knee disarticulation and
is currently wearing a Seal-In liner. I am interested in trying this
for her because I believe that the more proximal suspension would be
superior to the distal suspension of the seal-in system. However, she
has very soft fleshy tissue in her upper thigh area. Her current socket
fits extremely tight proximally when standing, but due to her tissue
type when she sits the tissue settles and she has anterior proximal
gapping, which would let air into the socket. I am concerned that this
loss of seal during sitting may be an issue.
I am interested in any feedback from people that have used the system.
Pros and Cons. Thank you for your time.
