> Hello All-
> I am about to start my residency so I am very new to the field, and hoped someone
could offer advice.
> I have an acquaintance whose father is an amputee in Serbia. By her description,
the amputation is a midlength AK. He has had a prosthesis (incl. a belt to help
suspend it) for about 1 1/2 yrs but has never been able to sit or walk comfortably
with it. The gentleman is 70 yo, about 6' and 250 lbs, and lost his leg due
to gangrene from diabetes--and is determined to keep walking.
> He is really interested in finding a website, hopefully with pictures, that
he could show his prosthetist that may offer suggestions for a more comfortable
prosthesis. If anyone knows of websites, or even written material that may be helpful,
please forward that info onto me.
Thanks a bunch,
N. Orrell
