Congratulations to Ing. Marlo Ortiz Velazquez Del Mercado for being
named the recipient of the Blatchford Prize, to be awarded at the
Twelfth World Congress of the International Society for Prosthetics and
Orthotics, being held in Vancouver, British Columbia from July 29-August
3, 2007. This prize, established by the Blatchford family to honor the
memory of Brian Blatchford, is awarded to an individual with an
outstanding record of innovative achievement in the field of prosthetics
and orthotics. Marlo's M.A.S.(R) method of transfemoral socket fitting
has been judged to be one of the most significant new techniques in the
world in the past triennium which results in better prostheses or
orthoses.

OPGA is proud to have worked with Marlo to develop the curriculum and
conduct 33 hands-on MAS Seminars over the past 4 years, resulting in
more than 800 practitioners becoming qualified in the provision of this
advanced socket design.

Please join me in congratulating Marlo in this highly significant and
well-deserved achievement!

Best regards,

Jim Andreassen
