Subject: [OANDP-L] Responses: E-bay Items/Help from Manufacturers
We have learned (and should already know) we don't want to fit used
components on our patients.
I have another thought I would like some feedback from the Manufactures
about. I have been searching on E-Bay for a used C-Leg unit, not to resell.
But to have available for trial use on patients whom I think would be good
candidates for a computer controlled knee unit. I think it would be a very
valuable tool for evaluation purposes as well as a before/after tool with
photos or video to use for pre-authorization with the insurance companies.
So which manufacturers are going belly up to the bar with in-expensive
diagnostic kits for their knee units? We know the ones who do will sell more
units. Nothing sells more than a patient feeling the difference in
stability. And the insurance companies can't say no to a video that shows
how stable the patient is in a computer controlled unit vs. a standard unit.
What do other practitioners think about a tool like this?
