Hello esteemed colleagues,
I received an invititation to become a contracted provider with a group from Florida called TechHealth, a national healthcare provider organization dedicated to generating patient referrals to your organization in exchange for fee-for-service reimbersements. At least they sent along a copy of their allowables and all of them are from 50 to 65 percent below Medicare allowable fees. A few examples are L1844 for $887 (less than my cost to obtain a custom unloader), L1960 $309, L5301 $1365 (58% of MCA), L5700 $1629 (53% of MCA), and L5980 $2205 (65% MCA).
Please be very careful before signing up for these great (sic) rates. Read very carefully the enclosed paperwork regarding reibursement rates. They are offering to pay the lesser of their published rates or 70% of state workers comp rates, 70% MCA, MSRP less 30% with invoice for anything else.
I have not signed any contract with TechHealth and therefore have not broken any agreements by revealing this information that was sent to me unsolicited. Remember that these people make their money by paying us less and charging the insurance carrier the full amount, while acting as the middlemen.
All the best,
