Dear colleagues,

I have seen 36 yo male patient recently who has a flaccid left foot drop
following trauma. Essentially he lacks active tibialis anterior power
and especially when fatigued he displays a mild 'foot drop' in swing.
During stance he has no functional deficits. He requires some sort of
AFO however having tried some carbon fibre dynamic AFO's (e.g. Ossur
Dynamic AFO) he doesn't like the restriction that these offer around the
ankle. I have tried a Foot-Up but this doesn't offer enough
dorsiflexion assist as this fellow is 6 ft 4in tall and weighs 120kg.
Any ideas for a suitable 'foot drop' device that is relatively
unrestrictive to provide dorsiflexion in swing but minimal restriction
in stance.

Regards,
