I have a new 11 year old male knee disarticulation amputee for a prosthesis fitting. I would appreciate any input on foot, knee , and suspension selection. The physician has specified silicone gel suspension. I have explained to the patient and his mother that a pin and lock will create a cosmetic problem particularly in sitting with the long femoral section and short tibial section. I am considering a KISS type system or supracondylar with a removable window or expandable insert. Possibly start with a 9mm liner so we can accomodate growth by progressively going down to 6mm or 3mm thickness? His weight is 65 lbs. Thanks for any responses.
