I have used Cortex for three years and have been absolutely thrilled with
them. They are in California as am I, but they have signed us up with all
of the DMERC carriers, so they can handle everything. Hundred bucks a month
plus add-ons. Ten bucks extra for eligibility in 20 seconds that tell us if
the pt. is M-care or Mcare Hmo, any Mcare deductibles, etc. When I signed
up, they gave me two months free to check it out. They are also connected
to opie if you decide to go totally digital later (as we did), but for a
simple system, it's great. Sorry to gush, but for three years, I ran the
office as a one man show with no billing personnel. I probably owe that to
cortex, so good luck.

You should call Acc-Q-Data, a billing/collections company located in Boca
Raton, FL. They can be reached at (866) 631-3108. Ask for Lisa Lake.
We have been using them for several years, and they also provide billing
software. Any questions, feel free to call me, and good luck!

I would advise you to get the Medicare online billing package and turn it
over to a local computer guru. They can install the setup properly and at a
reasonable fee. That was the smartest thing I ever did for my business. My
computer people charged a little over two grand for the computer, software,
printer, monitor, installation, tech support and delivery to the business. Getting
paid on approximately 90% of my billings in three weeks has really improved
my bottom line. Call me if you have any questions.

we use an old version of lytec and Zirmed for our clearinghouse...nice
arrangement...(and cheap)..Brent

I bought the MediSoft program for billing, and it works just fine. I have
used it for 4 years now, have bought one upgrade for it (there are 3 more
recent upgrade or versions out there now, but I haven't seen any need to
spend any more money for them).
I also use a clearinghouse called Zirmed, and between the Medisoft software
and Zirmed, the billing process is pretty simple and accurate. Medisoft
also include the entire practice management features, which I do not totally
utilize. You can create bills with it, schedule patients, and all that.
But, it is easier for me to do that with another software that I have, which
works with my pocket PC better.
Good luck,
Jim DeWees CP

Dear Jake, We are a small office in Kentucky and decided to go with sending
our billing to CPO Services and we love it. The expense is not very much and
they do all the work for you. You do not have to keep up with all the new
programs or anything. The gentleman's name is John Dolza and his phone number is
1-810-629-2423. Tell him Karen at Mobility Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc.
told you to call. I am sure you will be pleased with this service. I have done
billing in the past and this sure does take the headache out of all the work.
