Dear List
Looking for alternative treatment options for a 5 yo with Hx of surgery for
LE's to correct for walking on his naviculars, and external rotation of both
legs. Currently in solid ankle AFO's with twister cables. Developing
significant hyperextension of both knees, and to maintain ambulatory balance
is also hyperextending the lumbar region. Would like to avoid over bracing
the child, and keep him walking. He previously needed a rolling walker to
stand and ambulate. We have PT's willing to help with strengthing and use
bracing treatments, and are trying to come up with a better solution. Any
input would be greatly appreciated.
Very Truly Yours,
