Hello List,

I have a patient (english ex serviceman) who is
insistent on using a hip joint (originally made by
Hanger prosthetics in the UK he believes) that I can
not find in any catalogue or website I have
researched.

The joint is a double swivel pelvic band joint. It
consists of the standard metal pelvic band but with
attachment points for a shoulder strap. There is a
single axis hip joint with an open ball bearing
configuration. The most interesting aspect of the
device is that it attaches to the socket by means of a
hoseshoe shaped band, held in place by two ball
joints placed at ischial level, anteriorly and
posteriorly on the socket at mid M/L.

Has anyone had experience with this joint? Do you have
or know of how I could find parts? HAs Hanger UK been
absorbed by another Mega Healthcare Conglomerate
like most manufacturers?

Thanks for your help.
