To the listserver,

I want to thank all of you that responded to my original question.

Original Question:

Assistance please,

A patient that I have known for years has asked me to locate the hospital or
hospitals that reattached the upper extremity limbs. I remember the
transradial amputee that was reported with the national media in the USA.

A few years ago an existing transradial amputee had a donate arm surgically
attached to his body. Unfortunately the patient left the program (I vaguely
recall) and I believe did not continue the therapy program.

Would someone assist me in finding the physician/hospital location, so I can
provide this information to my patient. As always I will provide my
responses to everyone on our list server.

Dear Mr.Wood,
there are two places that I know as reference on reimplant of upper limbs
.One is the Walter Reed Army Center and the other the Louisville Hand
Surgery Center where I've studied.
I hope this can help.
Sincerely,

The ACA recently had a story about Hand Transplants in inMotion. You can
view the article online at:
_ <URL Redacted>
( http://www.amputee-coalition.org/inmotion/nov_dec_06/hand_transplant.html ) .
The premier (or rather- only, I believe) hand transplant center in the
nation is in Louisville, KY. It is a combination team of physicians from Jewish
Hospital, Klinert Kutz Hand Care Center and the University of Louisville.
They have a web site: _ http://www.handtransplant.com/_
( http://www.handtransplant.com/ ) , which has contact information.
Please let me know if I can provide any more information.
Thanks,
Molly Moore, MA
