Good afternoon,
For those of you that provide pediatric prosthetic devices; has
anyone else had problems with the FC 100150 mighty mite pediatric 4 hole
composite distal attachment block from Fillauer?
The inner female threaded brass cylinder that accepts the screws have
pulled completely out of the black composite. The cylindrical brass
threaded piece is fabricated without a flange on the end to prevent it
from pulling through the composite. We have had at least two cases
where the patient has had to return for repair because of this. No
patient has been injured. We are attempting to determine if this is a
fabrication problem on our end, or a potential design problem. We have
followed the fabrication instructions. The torque setting for the M 5x
.8 screws is 5 ft. lbs.
Thank you,
Ed Skewes
